Three Easy (Lactose-Free) High-Protein Snack Ideas

This post is sponsored by FAGE but all opinions expressed are mine. Thanks for supporting partnerships that make Nutrition Happen!

Out of all of the conflicting nutrition topics we see floating around the internet, there are a few things we know that are true. Like the handful of science-backed benefits to eating an adequate amount of protein for example – benefits like helping us feel fuller for longer and helping our blood sugars stay stable so that we’re energized for longer. No matter what your nutrition and health goals are, protein can play a role in supporting and reaching them.

There are several different ways to get protein in our diet but one of the most convenient and easy ways is definitely through Greek yogurt. Especially now, since there are so many great options to choose from – my favorite being FAGE BestSelf because it’s lactose-free, a game changer for those who are lactose-intolerant!

It’s easy to build a protein-rich snack with FAGE – the yogurt is made with simple and 100% natural ingredients. It’s real, dairy Greek yogurt without the lactose – but you’ll never know because it has a rich, creamy texture just like regular yogurt! I love using the plain because it’s like a blank canvas for us to build and customize toppings we love.

Not only can you turn it into a healthy, protein packed breakfast bowl like this one here with strawberries, blueberries, and almonds, but you can also make the perfect post-workout snack by adding some bananas, almond butter, and chia seeds. Both provide a healthy balance of antioxidants, fiber, protein, and healthy fats – everything you need in one bowl.

And the best part, in my opinion? You can also use it to make a lactose-free and delicious dessert after dinner, like this one with chocolate chips, coconut flakes, and strawberries. High in protein and nutrients, but also made to fit exactly what you’re craving (chocolate, in this case!)

No matter what your overall health goals are, there are plenty of ways eating an adequate amount of protein can support them. Including FAGE BestSelf into your daily routine makes it easy and convenient, regardless of whether you are sensitive to lactose or not!
