Homemade Pistachio Milk
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Setton Farms Raw Pistachio Kernels
- 4 cups filtered water (plus extra for soaking)
- 1-2 teaspoons vanilla extract (optional)
- 1-2 teaspoons maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Place the pistachios in a bowl and cover them with water. Let them soak for 6-8 hours or overnight. This softens them for blending.
- Drain the soaking water and rinse the pistachios under cold water.
- Add the soaked pistachios and 4 cups of filtered water to a blender. Blend on high for 1-2 minutes until smooth and creamy.
- Pour the mixture through a nut milk bag, fine-mesh strainer, or cheesecloth into a bowl. Squeeze out all the liquid, leaving the pulp behind.
- Add vanilla extract, sweetener, and a pinch of salt. Blend again briefly to combine.
- Transfer the pistachio milk to a jar or bottle and refrigerate for up to 4 days. Shake well before each use.
